Foundation ambassadors here to help

Wolves Foundation have set up a group of inspirational ambassadors who will both support and help highlight the hugely diverse range of activities delivered by the club’s official charity.

Former promotion-winning Wolves skipper Karl Henry and leading musical artist S-X were appointed as the Foundation’s first ambassadors last year, and have been followed this summer by another five leading lights from the worlds of football and entertainment.

The new additions comprise top sports broadcasters and lifelong Wolves fans Johnny Phillips and Jacqui Oatley, musician and TV presenter and also Wolves fan Mark Rhodes, leading BBC presenter and furniture restorer Jay Blades, and inspirational mentor and former GB Paralympic football captain Jack Rutter.

There are likely to be more ambassadors appointed in the future, but at present this is the group whom the Foundation are delighted to be working with over the coming weeks and months.

“We are delighted to have appointed some more fantastic ambassadors this summer, joining Karl and S-X, and feel we now have a really strong group of people who will be able to inspire both our staff and participants and help highlight the value and importance of our projects,” says Will Clowes, Head of Wolves’ Foundation.

“They all have very different stories to tell in terms of their careers and the successes they have enjoyed, and their talents and experiences tie in perfectly with our key strategy of creating opportunities and changing lives.

“Our ambassadors’ strengths cover different parts of the Foundation’s activities, and the idea is that they will be able to get involved in various ways with our programme.

“One of the main areas where they will really be able to help is by getting the message to a wider audience of just how much work the Foundation carries out within the local community in Wolverhampton, and how many people of all ages and abilities that we positively influence.

“We are understandably not yet back to our full range of events and initiatives due to the continuing Covid-19 regulations, but we are really looking forward to working with all of our ambassadors to the benefit of the Foundation over the coming weeks and months.”
