Dan McNamara praised the effort and performance of his group after being reduced to 10 players in the 2-0 loss away to Nottingham Forest.
The most significant turning point of the game was in the 20th minute when Tammi George was shown a red after picking up two yellow cards. From there, Forest converted late on either side of the break. McNamara spoke about his thoughts on the red card and how his team adapted to going down to 10 players. He also previewed this week's upcoming FA Cup tie against local rivals Stourbridge.
On the Forest game and decisions in it
"I’m so proud of the performance, ruined by more officiating. I don't know whether it is a Wolves thing. I watched the first-team gaffer yesterday, and today, I am saying the same thing it was so poor.
"To send someone off inside 20 minutes, you have got to absolutely, completely understand that it is a 100 per cent right, and we have watched the video, and it is not even a yellow card.
"The referee is not looking. It is weekly at the minute, so what can we do? We have to accept it and look to next week now.
"It is two points dropped, but overall, I am really proud of the girl's performance. They don't deserve that Forest and Wolves. They don't deserve officiating like we seen again today."
On how going down to 10 players affected the game plan
"It was a top-of-the-table clash; of course, it affects the game plan. One of our best players has been sent off for nothing inside 20 minutes, so it hugely affects the game plan.
"I thought we were tremendous in moments. I thought we created opportunities, and we limited them to very little.
"There was a bit of naivety to give the penalty away, but in the first half, I can’t think of an opportunity that they actually created.
"We were up the other end creating good moments, so there are plenty of positives to take out of that. Even with 10, we caused them problems, but we were rarely troubled.
"They have opened us up for the second goal, but it was always going to come eventually when you are trying to fight against an extra player.
"It's so disappointing we are working at tier three of the women's game, and I am absolutely distraught, so god knows what it is like at the top of the game for officiating to be having such a massive impact in the game it is a real shame, and I feel sorry for the people involved."
On Stourbridge next up in the FA Cup
"Everybody loves the FA Cup, and it is a really proud day as a serviceman as well to represent Wolves and my service - the RAF - in the remembrance day fixture, so we look forward to that.
"It is something that me and the staff in the military look forward to each year, and it is important that we train hard this week and we put this behind us.
"We did say coming here it wasn't a must win for us, but I think it was for Forest, so we can reflect on this now and go away and work hard and see over the next few weeks.
"There is some big games coming up with top of the table clashes and we just keep quiet in the corner and keep going and hopefully we can progress next week and enjoy the cup run."
