James Collins’ side made it back-to-back victories on the road in the last fortnight, taking the spoils from Birmingham City a week last Friday, before following that up with another win in the Premier League Cup, this time away at Swansea.
Wolves made light work of the Swans last time out, with Owen Hesketh’s instinctive finish from inside the penalty area added to by a second-half spot-kick from Luke Cundle deservingly maintaining their 100 per cent record in the cup.
With attention returning to the PL2 this evening, the development side currently have 18 points from their 12 Division 2 matches, exactly half of the 36 points they accrued from 24 games last season – meaning another play-off spot is well within the grasps of the side if they replicate their performances across the rest of the campaign, with Collins’ men currently sat in 5th place in the table.
Just one point behind are Monday evening’s opponents, Norwich. The young Canaries side are on a similar run to Wolves, with both sides having earned two wins, a draw and two losses from their last five league matches.
However, Norwich will be hoping for a better result than last time out when they suffered a shock 3-2 defeat on the road at then-bottom of the league Middlesbrough. But having scored 29 goals from their opening fixture, as opposed to just the 13 from Wolves, Collins’ side need to be aware of the goal threat the Canaries pose to his side.

WHAT THE BOSS THINKS
The visit of Norwich is the start of a run of four games in 13 days for James Collins’ players, and the head coach knows how important it is to string a run of wins together if they are to be in with a chance of making the play-offs come the end of the season.
“We’ve been a little bit up and down at times this season, but I looked at last season and we got 36 points from 24 games and had a good season,” Collins explained.
“At the moment, we’ve got 18 from 12, so exactly half-way to where we were last year. A poor performance at Crewe probably made us feel like we’ve not done as well as we might have, but we’re trying to get them from childhood to adulthood, and part of that is inconsistency.
“I’m sure they’ll go back to being inconsistent at time, but it’s nice to put a few wins together because we’ve got a tough week ahead, with Norwich and Fulham, who are flying up at the top of the league, plus the FA Youth Cup after that for a lot of our players who are eligible.
“Four games in 13 days is a real challenge, so we’re going to have to juggle the team around a little bit.”
