Dendoncker bags first international goal

Leander Dendoncker struck his first senior international goal as Belgium hit Poland for six on Wednesday.

The midfielder fired home a wonder strike from distance to add the fifth goal of a resounding Nations League victory, which saw the Red Devils bounce back from defeat to the Netherlands on matchday one.

Like Dendoncker, Hee Chan Hwang was also on the scoresheet in style for his country on Monday.

Running at the Chile defence, the attacker cut on to his right foot and curled a fine finish home after 12 minutes of a 2-0 victory over 10-man Chile in a friendly.

Wolves midfield duo of Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho also earned a cap each as Portugal beat Czech Republic 2-0 in the Nations League on Thursday.

Neves started and played 88 minutes before being replaced by Moutinho – a combination of substitute Portugal manager Fernando Santos regularly calls upon.

Meanwhile, Conor Coady was an unused substitute as England drew 1-1 in Germany, while Willy Boly also remained on the bench for a 0-0 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Lesotho.

Fabio Silva was in fine form for Portugal’s under-21s, hitting a hat-trick and provided a further assist in a thumping win over Liechtenstein’s under-21s.

England’s under-21s were also victorious against Albania, when Morgan Gibbs-White came off the bench with 29 minutes left and the Young Lions took their tally from one to three at the Technique Stadium.
