Nuno wants Wolves to learn from errors

Nuno Espirito Santo wants his side to learn from their mistakes made in defeat to Watford over the course of the season.

Wolves’ six-match unbeaten run came to a sudden halt when Watford struck twice in 58 seconds before the break and the hosts had no response in front of goal.

Disappointed with the opening period, but taking heart from the second, Nuno wants his side to use Saturday’s defeat as a lesson.

“We must bounce back. We have to analyse really carefully what we did today and this week we must work harder,” he said.

“We didn’t stick to our rules and tasks. As a team they were more compact, we made mistakes and allowed them to recover the ball and create situations.

“It’s a bad result but the first half was a bad performance, they were better than that and achieved their goals. We didn’t move it, didn’t break, there was no mobility.”

After three consecutive clean sheets in all competitions, Wolves’ defence was pierced twice in a minute in a style which disappointed Nuno.

“First one OK, but the second is our ball and we had to take the game where we want to take it. Every goal is annoying, but we must not do it again, it’s control of the game, even if we concede a goal.

“They got the second goal immediately after the first. We needed more control to manage the situations better. There was a lack of energy and many mistakes.”

After the interval Nuno made his changes and saw plenty of endeavor, if not the final product, so is taking the positives from his side’s performance.

“Even if we lose, we must lose the way we did the second half, we showed we have character.

“It was a good reaction second half in terms of attitude, not in terms of the game, but how we did things.

“We have to move on, really knowing that when we prepare things, we must do it. We must believe in every action but today we were not ourselves.”
