The Wolves midfielder helped his side to a dominant 4-0 win over the Hornets at Molineux back at the start of March, putting the finishing touches on Wolves’ largest margin of victory since they returned to the top-flight in 2018.

With the gold and black already three goals up following a scintillating opening 21 minutes, Bruno Lage’s men were seeing out the game to secure all three points at home, but Neves had different ideas.

Having had the ball laid down to him by Chiquinho, the Portuguese maestro took a touch to bring the ball under control, before guiding an exquisite lob over the head of Ben Foster – who was barely off his line – and inside the top corner of the goal.

Neves faces competition from Reece James (Chelsea), Cucho Hernandez (Watford), Gabriel Martinelli (Arsenal), Bruno Guimaraes (Newcastle United), Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United), Kai Havertz (Chelsea) and Timothy Castagne (Leicester City).

Voting closes on Monday 28th March.
