READ | Defender confident in Wolves' future
“I have much more to come” – that’s the view of ambitious defender Kortney Hause as he marked his return from injury with a new Wolves contract.
The England Under-21 international played 45 minutes of a behind-closed-doors friendly with Northampton at Compton Park yesterday, his first action since picking up a hamstring injury against Middlesbrough last October.
Hause, 20, is now keen to get back into the first team set-up and repay the club after putting pen to paper on an improved three-and-a-half year deal.
“I am over the moon to have signed a new deal,” says Hause.
“I have been at the club for two years now and have had some good times here.
“I am really happy to have extended my contract.
“When I get offered the new contract I was injured and that shows that the club believe in me and think highly of me which is really pleasing.
“When I come back fit and strong and ready to play again I am confident I can repay the club with good performances.
“I can’t wait to get back to normal and feeling good again.
“I played 45 in an under-21s game against Northampton and it went well.
“That is just one step further towards getting back.
“For me now I just want to show what I can do.
“I have confidence in myself and as long as I come back fit and feeling good then there is a lot more to come from me.”
Hause signed a new deal on the same day as fellow Wolves Young Gun Jordan Graham, the pair two of many players to have committed their long term future to Molineux in recent times.
He believes that is a sure sign of plenty of promise ahead from a settled group of players.
“Wolves is a big club and a good Championship club,” Hause added.
“I don’t think we have reached the full potential which everyone here believes we can reach at this moment in time.
“I am sure with the likes of myself, Jordan and the other players who have signed new deals, we can work together and really push on.
“Hopefully then we can fulfil the club’s potential.”
