Relive the 1997/98 season with Wolves ReReviewed

Wolves ReReviewed is back for a second episode as the 1997/98 season is re-watched, relived and re-reviewed on the official Wolves YouTube channel and Facebook page.

After looking back at the play-off winning 2002/03 campaign in the first episode, commentator Mikey Burrows, The Athletic’s Wolves correspondent Tim Spiers and comedian Tom Parry have once again delved into the Wolves season review DVDs from years gone by.

Powered by Energy Angels, the trio will this time re-review a 1997/98 season which was full of intrigue and drama as Wolves aimed for promotion from Division One having missed out in the play-offs twice in the previous three years.

Among the highlights of the season was seeing a fresh-faced Robbie Keane – only recently progressing out of the Academy – notching twice on his league debut against Norwich City, while Keane’s strike partner and Wolves legend Steve Bull netted his 300th goal in gold and black during the run-in.

But the campaign would be most well-known for an FA Cup run which saw Wolves reach the semi-finals, something the club would not go on to repeat for another 20 years.

The first part of Wolves ReReviewed episode two will be shown on the official Wolves YouTube channel and Facebook page at 7.30pm on Thursday evening, before part two follows at 7.30pm on Friday.
