Geoff Thomas to be inducted into Old Gold Club

Former Wolves and England star Geoff Thomas will be the latest guest to be inducted into the Old Gold Club as he appears on the popular podcast this week.

Thomas, who joined Wolves from Crystal Palace in 1993, will be the 23rd inductee to be interviewed about his time at the club by regular podcast hosts Mikey Burrows and Chris Iwelumo.

The Manchester-born midfielder will discuss his four-year stint at Molineux when he features on the Old Gold Club, sponsored by Wolverhampton Building Supplies.

The episode will be broadcast during a half hour Facebook, Twitter and YouTube video this evening at 6pm, before an extended podcast is released on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and all other podcast apps.

Thomas, who also earnt nine caps for England in the early 90s under his future Wolves boss Graham Taylor, made just ten appearances and netted four goals in his first season at Molineux due to injury.

He was also kept out of the Wolves side for large chunks of his second season in gold and black as the team made the play-offs, before losing out to Bolton Wanderers in a semi-final infamous for the John McGinlay ‘punch’.

Thomas missed almost the entirety of the 1994/95 campaign, before leaving Wolves at the end of the following season, after making 54 appearances and scoring eight goals during his time at Molineux.

The latest episode of the Old Gold Club will be broadcast on Facebook, YouTube and Twitter from 6pm this evening, while the full podcast will be available on all the regular channels afterwards.

The first 22 episodes of the podcast, where guests included Carl Ikeme, Kenny Hibbitt, John Richards, George Elokobi, Steve Daley, Mick McCarthy and Steve Kindon are also available to listen back on iTunes by clicking here or Spotify here.
