Karl Henry joins the Old Gold Club

Midfield general Karl Henry will be the latest former Wolves star to be inducted into the Old Gold Club.

Henry will be the sixth inductee on the clubs’ new podcast, with the hometown hero set to discuss his seven-year Molineux career when he joins regular hosts Mikey Burrows and Chris Iwelumo.

The club’s former captain will feature in a half hour Facebook and YouTube video, before an extended podcast is released on iTunes and Spotify.

The 35-year-old will join the likes of Carl Ikeme, Kenny Hibbitt and Terry Connor as inductees into the Old Gold Club – sponsored by Wolverhampton Building Supplies – and while on the podcast, Henry will recall his time at Wolves, including the Championship winning 2008/09 season.

Henry made more than 270 appearances for his hometown club after joining from Stoke in August 2006, leading the side out on numerous occasions in the absence of Jody Craddock, with the pair lifting the Championship trophy together in 2009.

The midfielder will be remembered for his continued presence in a side which played three consecutive Premier League seasons, before suffering successive relegations.

The latest Old Gold Club will be broadcast on Facebook and YouTube from 6pm this evening, while the full podcast will be available on all the regular channels afterwards.

The first five episodes of the podcast with Ikeme, Hibbitt, Connor, Tony Daley and Scott Golbourne are also available to listen back to by clicking here.
