Wolves launch Old Gold Club

Wolves have launched Old Gold Club, a brand new podcast and video feature hosted by Mikey Burrows and Chris Iwelumo.

Powered by official partner Wolverhampton Building Supplies, Old Gold Club premiered on Wolves’ official Facebook page this afternoon with the first episode featuring recently retired number one Carl Ikeme.

Every week another former Wolves player or manager will be inducted into the Old Gold Club, which will see them sit down with Mikey and Chris to record a 30 minute Facebook show, followed by an extended chat which will go live as a podcast, available on iTunes here.

Ikeme visited Molineux on Wednesday afternoon to record the podcast, and covered a number of topics, including his long career at the club, representing Nigeria, the infamous tactics board incident and much, much more.

Former Wolves striker Iwelumo, who features regularly on Talksport and Premier League Productions, will partner regular Wolves commentator Mikey Burrows for the project, and was delighted to induct his old teammate into the Old Gold Club.

“It’s really exciting for me to be a part of the Old Gold Club, and to get Carl into the studio for the very first episode was fantastic,” Iwelumo told wolves.co.uk. “Carl was brilliant company as ever - it is so good to see him looking so well - and it was good fun to go over some old stories together.

“I have been doing a lot of media work, in and amongst other bits and pieces since my retirement from the professional game, but to produce something regularly at Wolves will be a lot of fun and I really hope the supporters enjoy it.”
