Wolves 5 (OG 1, 12, Bramford 69, 82, Hughes 73) Halifax 1 (Sowerby 90+3)
Wolves Women secured victory for the third time in a week after putting five past Halifax at the New Bucks Head.
Following wins on the road at Huddersfield Town and Stourbridge, Dan McNamara’s side returned home and were again unstoppable.
Two own goals, a Sophie Bramford brace and another for Amber Hughes made it 15 goals in three games for the Old Gold, who have now won five of their last six league games.
It took Wolves less than a minute to open the scoring against Halifax and it came courtesy of an own goal. Anna Morphet’s corner was swung deep into the box and the ball was headed past Becky Flaherty by her own player, with the goalkeeper unable to prevent the ball going over the line.
And it was two on 12 minutes as, this time, Beth Merrick drove forward with the ball and looked for a cross into the box, but the unfortunate Izzy Dean could only divert into her own net.

Half-time | Wolves 2-0 Halifax
Hughes had the ball in the back of the net shortly after the half-time interval, but she was denied by the offside flag despite heading home from Morphet’s free-kick.
McNamara again made us of his substitutes bench early on and one of those, Bramford, made the desired impact. She found herself on the scoresheet for the second Sunday running, and in some style. Bramford picked up the ball just outside of the centre circle before stepping in and superbly picking out the top corner from distance, giving Flaherty absolutely no chance.
And Hughes finally had her goal with just under 20 minutes left to play as she made it four on 73 minutes. The striker netted for the seventh time in five games, collecting the ball just inside the area before finishing expertly into the bottom corner.
Bramford rounded off the scoring for Wolves with her second of the afternoon, finding herself with time and space in the box before finishing calmly under Flaherty for number five.

However, the hosts were unable to hold onto their clean sheet after conceding deep into stoppage time through Lucy Sowerby who tapped into an empty net shortly before the full-time whistle.
