Wolves Women begin their defence of the Women’s Challenge Cup at Sutton Coldfield Town on Sunday afternoon.
The Old Gold have won the competition back-to-back in the previous two seasons, claiming their second title on the trot at Molineux back in May.
Dan McNamara’s side defeated Stourbridge by three goals to nil to lift the trophy and begin their quest for three in a row in the first round at Coles Lane.
Wolves come into the game on the back of last Sunday’s 4-0 victory against Huddersfield Town at the New Bucks Head.
That result means the team lie second in the Northern Premier Division table, six points behind leaders Burnley who have played a game more.
Sutton Coldfield, who compete at tier four level, currently sit midtable in the Division One Midlands table after picking up 10 points from their opening eight games – the latest coming in a 1-1 draw with Sporting Khalsa in midweek.
Wolves last faced Sutton Coldfield in the Women’s FA Cup back in October 2020, with the Old Gold progressing into the next round following a 2-0 victory thanks to goals from Jade Cross and Kate Evans.

WHAT THE GAFFER SAID
"They are rightly in the National League now. They have earned their right to be in tier four, and we will have to take them as seriously as we take everybody else.
"The squad is looking a little bit thin at the minute we have got players that are out injured.
“Amber (Hughes), we are trying to work with her to get her back on the pitch as quickly as possible, which is always difficult after a fracture on her face.
“H (Helen Dermody) has picked up a little knock, which we are hoping is not going to be anything too serious, so hopefully, a couple more weeks and she will be back in the fold.
"We are working with Summer (Holmes) to try and get her back on the pitch as quick as we can, and there are a few others that have picked up little niggles today.
"It is making it tough, but it shows the character of the group filling round holes with square pegs at the minute.
"They have come through and performed, and we are asking different people to do different things, and we are working hard to try and get players back on the pitch.
"If we keep performing the way we are, then we are really pleased, and we have to do that again to make sure we progress in what is a defence of the County Cup."
