Toussaint | 'We built our way into the game'

Destiney Toussaint chatted to Wolves TV after the game against local rivals Stourbridge, in which the Old Gold ran out 3-0 winners.

Toussaint looked a threat all game and came close on occasions but couldn't find the back of the net.

A goal from Anna Morphet on the half-hour mark and second half goals from Tammi George and Amber Hughes meant Dan McNamara's side have now picked up seven out of a possible nine points so far this season.

Toussaint spoke about her thoughts on the game, the words of advice McNamara gave at half-time, and what she expects in the upcoming fixture against Stoke City.

On her thoughts on the game

"I thought we started slow, it was a bit scrappy in the first half, and I don't think as a team we got our foot on the ball enough.

"We built our way into the game and went in at 1-0 and came out second half and put the game to bed and got the three points, so that's all that matters."

On what McNamara's words were at half-time

"Just to settle down and play football, we knew they were going to come out and be aggressive and try and make strong contact against us.

"But we knew we just had to settle down and play football and make them work for the ball a little bit, which worked in the second half and got the reward in the end."

On how the domination of possession impacted the game

"Everyone starts to get a bit of momentum and get a bit of flow to the team. I am always one for saying don't rush it and settle down, pick your moments of when to go and not to go.

"The more passes you make, the more you grow into the game, and the more confidence builds, and you get the rewards at the end."

On playing Stoke next

"It's another tricky game. Stoke are aggressive, and I would say they are probably a bit similar to Stourbridge in a sense in terms of the aggressive side.

"We are going to recover well, and we have a weekend off, and we will enjoy that, and we will start to put the work in training next week."
