Four goals from Lowri Walker, a brace apiece from Billie Haynes and Jess Jennings, as well as goals from Jen Anslow, Chloe Williams and an own goal secured an emphatic victory for Wolves.

A bright start by the away side saw them take the lead within three minutes, a wonderful attacking move finished with Tammi George’s ball into the area being turned into the back of her own net by a Steel City defender.

Wolves were then three up within minutes. Lowri Walker grabbed her first of the game with a lofted finish over Johnson in the Steel City goal before Chloe Williams extended Wolves’ lead further.

The away side continued to show their dominance and went close to adding to their lead, first through Jess Jennings and then through Billie Haynes but both were unable to beat Steel City’s Johnson.

However, Wolves soon made it four through Jennings and then Walker made it five, getting her second goal of the game with a powerful strike off the underside of the crossbar.

The second-half followed a similar fashion to the first, with Wolves making all the running and they were soon 6-0 in front, Walker finishing well to grab her hat-trick.

Wolves continued to dominate and went close time and time again before Jennings got her second of the game and Wolves’ seventh. Anslow then got in on the act, finishing from close range to make it 8-0.

Walker added to her hat-trick by netting a fourth before Haynes grabbed a brace with two well taken goals to put Wolves 11-0 up.

Wolves manager Daniel McNamara said: "I thought the girls were fantastic. We were on it from the first minute and that showed from us taking the lead so early. I thought the players were excellent and managed the game well.

"We go into the next game exactly as we did today. We’ll maintain our professionalism and attitude and hope to get all 3 points.’’
