Wolves begin Women’s FA Cup campaign at Khalsa

Wolves are to head on the road in the first round proper of the Vitality Women’s FA as they make the short trip to face local rivals Sporting Khalsa.

The draw for the first round of the competition took place today and paired Dan McNamara’s side alongside the FAWNL Division One Midlands side, with the cup clash due to take place away at The Guardian Warehousing Arena on Sunday 14th November.

Wolves have faced fourth tier Khalsa several times over the last few seasons prior to the old gold’s promotion to the third tier in the summer, with the side in gold and black earning a 5-0 victory the last time the teams went head-to-head, thanks to a Lowri Walker hat-trick.

The visit to Willenhall will be the first outing for Wolves in the 2021/22 Women’s FA Cup, having gone on a stunning run last season to reach the fourth round, where the incredible journey was brought to an end at the hands of Championship outfit Blackburn Rovers.

Khalsa have already played a qualifying match to reach the first round of this season's edition, putting five past Thrapston Town Ladies on Sunday.
