Players Donate to Wolves Women

The Wolves players have made a generous donation to the players of Wolves Women FC

Wolves Women is supported by Wolves and Wolves Community Trust, giving 90 elite female footballers in the city the opportunity to play and train the Wolves Way.

“We wanted to make a donation that can specifically help the players, we know that they balance playing with jobs and families, so it’s great for us to be able to give them something to support them to be a wolves player” said, Club Captain, Danny Batth.

Yesterday, Clare Hakeman and Natalie Widdal attended Compton to receive the donation from Danny, Carl Ikeme and Dave Edwards. The players shared stories of their different Christmas training schedules, as the female players have an extended break as they aren’t in action till the 8th January.

Clare said of the donation “Its great for the players to support us like this, we work hard to be as professional as possible and donations like this, along with all the other support we get will help us to push towards our aim of getting promotion this year!”

Wolves Women go into the Christmas break in second place in the table, six points behind leaders Loughborough Foxes, with two games in hand. They start 2017 in FA Cup action as they travel to Nottingham Forest in the Second Round Proper on Sunday 8th January.

They play their home games at Hednesford Town FC, for fixture updates and team news, follow them on twitter @wolveswomenfc.
