The Canadian forward – who was among Nuno Espirito Santo’s first-team squad which travelled to Liverpool last week – had gone seven games without finding the back of the net, but that run came to an end in stunning style on Monday afternoon.
With Wolves having found themselves behind at half-time, the 18-year-old notched two in as many minutes to put the finishing touches on a 4-2 victory over West Bromwich Albion, lifting the under-23s above their local rivals and up to third in the Division 2 table.
On taking the three points
“It was a great win. I felt in the first-half, we didn’t start the game off too well, West Brom came at us with two really good finishes. But I felt we worked the goal well, me slipping it into Oskar [Buur] and then he did really well down the wing to find Meritan [Shabani] and he got the goal.
“I thought it was a poor first-half, but we came out in the second-half strong, and I thought we deserved the win in the end.”
On the second-half turnaround
“James [Collins] and Scott [Sellars], they came in and they just told us the truth – it’s not good enough and we need to step it up in the second-half.
“We needed to try something because it’s a local derby, it means a lot to all of us, so we all knew that the first-half performance wasn’t good enough and everyone came to their senses in the second and I thought we did a very good second-half.”

On an under-23 Black Country derby
“A local derby is everything, it’s one of the biggest games of the season. I’m sure with fans it would’ve been great, but it is what it is, and it’s still great to get the win.”
On his second goal sealing the win
“It was a great team move. TP [Taylor Perry] did great to find Meritan to square it, and then Meritan played a great pass to me, very unselfish, and I just did the easy bit which was to tap it in.
“These two goals gave me a lot of confidence, and they are very much needed. I haven’t scored for a while and I wanted to get back onto the scoresheet, so I’m very happy to do so and to have helped the team.
“It’s amazing really. The feeling’s indescribable when you score a goal. There was a lot of chances that I didn’t put away, and that’s my job as one of the two strikers in the team, and that’s what I need to do, so I think I did my job.
“That fourth goal was very big because at 3-2 they are still in the game. One more goal and it’s a draw, so that fourth goal was a big one to seal the game off and complete a good team performance.”

On gaining first-team experience
“That’s my goal, to be down there with the first-team, and it’s my dream to play in the Premier League, to play for Wolves, so anything I can do really.
“I need to put in good performances with the under-23s where I’m at, impress in training, whoever I’m with, and this is what’s going to get me there.
“That’s definitely the goal, that’s the dream, to get over there and I’m trying everything, I’m trying my best to do so.”
