John makes permanent Doncaster switch

Wolves Academy defender Cameron John has joined League One outfit Doncaster Rovers on a permanent deal.

The 21-year-old excelled while on loan at the Keepmoat Stadium last season after rising through the ranks at Wolves Academy having moved to the club in 2015.

During his time in gold and black, the versatile centre back – who has also been deployed as a left-back – was a key member of the under-23 side which secured promotion to Premier League 2 Division 1 in 2018/19, wearing the armband on several occasions as the young Wolves took the title.

His dominant performances at the back for the development side that season saw John rewarded by Nuno Espirito Santo, who handed John his first-team squad bow in the Premier League, with the defender being an unused substitute for the 3-1 victory over Everton at Goodison Park.

To further his development, John spent the entire 2019/20 campaign on loan at Doncaster and gave impressive performances under Darren Moore, scoring twice in 18 League One appearances, while also netting in his only EFL Trophy match at home to Lincoln City.

Everyone at Wolves would like to wish Cam the best of luck for his future.
