Wolves Under 23s were knocked out of the Premier League Cup as they were beaten 2-0 by Leicester City at Holmes Park.
The hosts took the lead in the 18th minute as Liandro Martis' strike was deflected past Harry Burgoyne.
The visitors fought back in the second half as both Benny Ashley-Seal and Carlos Heredia hit the crossbar.
As Wolves looked to push forward, Harvey Barnes beat Bugoyne from the edge of the box to send the Foxes through to the semi-final of the Premier League Cup.
Scott Sellars elected to make three changes from the side which beat West Bromwich Albion on Good Friday. Oskar Buur Rasmussen, Elliot Watt and Jordan Graham came in to the side as Sherwin Seedorf, Phil Ofosu-Ayeh and Ming-Yang Yang made way.
The game began in cagey fashion with neither side being able to manage extended periods of possession in very wet conditions.
It was Leicester who took the lead in the 18th minute as when Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall's effort was well blocked by Ryan leak, the rebound fell to Liandro Martis whose effort took a substantial deflection off Ben Goodliffe to divert the ball past Harry Burgoyne.
The hosts continued to press Wolves as Burgoyne was forced to make a save from Gordon, while Hughes headed over the crossbar from a corner.
Wolves went agonisingly close to drawing level as Ben Goodliffe rose highest to head a Conor Levingston corner inches past Daniel Iversen's right hand post.

Wolves began the second half strongly and they should have been level just minutes after the restart. Jordan Graham's corner was headed onto the crossbar by Benny Ashley-Seal, the rebound then fell to Carlos Heredia whose effort also crashed off the crossbar!
Leicester had the ball in the back of the net in the 64th minute through George Thomas only for the linesman's flag to be up for offside.
Niall Ennis went close for Wolves as he looked to curl a shot into the far corner which narrowly missed.
The hosts doubled their lead in the 68th minute as Ben Goodliffe was dispossessed inside his own half. The ball was worked to Harvey Barnes on the edge of the box, who finished beyond Harry Burgoyne.
Leicester looked to extend their lead through Josh Gordon but on two occasions, Harry Burgoyne made good saves to keep the score at 2-0.
