It’s Norwich For The U23s

Wolves U23s take on Norwich City at AFC Telford’s New Bucks Head on Monday for the second game in a row (7pm).

Last time out, the Under 23s led 3-0 against Monday’s visitors before ultimately drawing the game 3-3 in the Premier League Cup.

Scott Sellars says that a two-week break has been important for his players and he hopes that his team can rectify their mistakes on Monday evening

He said, “We’ve had a bit of a break where we’ve given the lads a few days off - they’ve been at it quite a while now so we felt that was important.

“We’ve got quite a few foreign players so we let them get home to their families.

“After the disappointment of going 3-0 up against Norwich and them getting back to 3-3, we’ve looked at what we did well in the game as we did a lot of really good stuff.

“Obviously we’ve had to look at the frailties of our performance on the night and probably at the moment in general.

“A lot of our work is pretty consistent, we have a certain way of working across the football club and we think that produces good footballers.

“It’s just for them to learn from their mistakes and try and get them into a mentality of not making the same mistakes.

“In football, the great think is that you’ve always got a game the following week.

“To play the same team again, obviously we can look at what their strengths are - and they did have some strengths on the night.

“We can also review their weaknesses as well, hopefully we can capitalise on them as well.

“It’s a league game - our last few performances have been o-k but the results haven’t been great so we need to get back to picking some points up.”
