Wolves under-21s have been drawn against Port Vale, Salford City and Wrexham in the group stages of the 2024/25 Bristol Street Motors Trophy.
James Collins’ side are once again competing in the EFL competition, won by Peterborough United last season, having been invited as one of 16 Academy teams to join the 48 clubs in League One and League Two.
Wolves were ball number eight in the northern section of the draw and were placed in Group B during Thursday afternoon’s draw.
The under-21s will travel away to all three teams during the course of the 2024/25 season, with the first round of matches due to take place in early September.
All four teams in the group will play each other once in the first round of the tournament, with the top two teams from each group making it into round two.
Last season, Wolves faced Notts County, Lincoln City and Derby County as they fell out of the competition in the group stages following successive defeats to the Imps and the Rams – despite the under-21s earning an impressive victory at Notts County in the opening fixture.
Fixture dates and times of the 2024/25 Bristol Street Motors Trophy will be confirmed in due course.
