Wolves under-21s faced a stern test on their pre-season camp, as James Collins’ side crossed the border to take on four-time Hungarian League champions ETO FC Gyor.
A goal in each half gave the hosts a 2-0 victory at ETO Park, with Wolves coming up against a senior outfit currently competing in the second tier in Hungary.
With several regular under-21 starters training with the first-team, Collins fielded a squad which included some familiar names and players who have moved up from the under-18s.
Justin Hubner captained the team, while Fraser Harper, Makenzie Bradbury and Conor McLeod, all aged just 16, were integrated into the group with minutes under their belt.
The fixture, played in 30-plus degree heat, marked the second outing of pre-season for the under-21s following last Tuesday’s match-up with Stockport County at Compton Park.
Wolves play Budapest Honved on Wednesday morning before travelling back to the UK to complete the remainder of pre-season.
