Wolves under-21s made it two wins from two after a pair of goals in the space of six first-half minutes saw off Brighton & Hove Albion.
James Collins’ side have produced the perfect response to their heavy opening day loss to Chelsea with a victory at Blackburn Rovers and another three-point haul against the Seagulls thanks to Harvey Griffiths and Christian Marques goals.
The Portuguese defender had actually fired Albion a warning sign just six minutes in by heading narrowly wide from a devilish delivery, however it was the head of his midfield teammate which would open the scoring on 24 minutes.
Chem Campbell was the creator, twisting and turning his man, before whipping a brilliant cross in for to Griffiths, but as the ball dropped slightly behind the former Manchester City man, he stooped low to guide his header into the far corner brilliantly.
Griffiths was involved in Wolves’ second too, as a short corner led to Connor Ronan swinging in a high cross which the midfielder kept alive, and Marques was on hand to make no mistake this time, forcing the ball home from close range.

Despite the hosts’ lead, it was them who remained the more likely after the interval, and when Nathan Fraser and Campbell exchanged headers, the former was through, but after opting to go on his left, the young attacker struck the top of the crossbar.
For Ronan, he’s spent the summer with Bruno Lage’s first-team and has featured on the bench in the Premier League, but was handed important minutes at Aggborough, and he tried his luck from range, only to see the ball flash wide of the near post.
Inside the final ten minutes, Wolves came close again when Harry Birtwistle clipped a cross into a dangerous area and Fraser got there first, but as he helped the ball on with the volley, the Brighton goalkeeper could watch it fall harmlessly over.
However, it was Wolves who were the happiest come full-time, as Collins’ youngsters made it six points and clean sheets from their recent work.
