Papa John's Trophy group stage fixtures confirmed

All three group stage matches of Wolves under-21s’ Papa John’s Trophy campaign for 2022/23 have now been confirmed.

James Collins’ side will begin at Shrewsbury Town, with a 7pm kick-off on Tuesday 30th August at the Montgomery Waters Meadow.

The tie is a repeat of last season’s competition, when the old gold locked horns with the League One side, and led for much of the contest, before falling to a late defeat.

The following month, at 7.30pm on Tuesday 20th September, Wolves head to Stockport County for the second group game of the campaign.

The Hatters returned to the EFL after an 11-year absence in May, claiming the National League title, and they’ll host Wolves’ youngsters at Edgeley Park in September.

The group stage will conclude for the under-21s against Port Vale four weeks later, as Collins' side take to the Vale Park pitch from 7.30pm on Tuesday 18th October.

Wolves under-21s last played at the stadium back in December 2020 in the same competition, as the hosts came from behind to snatch a late winner in the knockout stages.

Tickets for all three fixtures will be made available in due course, with prices as follows:
