Derby vs Wolves | U23 Match preview

Wolves under-23s have a tough test on their hands if they are to get back to winning ways when they face league leaders Derby County on the road this Friday night.

Mark Kennedy’s side came up short against Tottenham Hotspur in Premier League 2 Division 1 last Saturday but finished the game strongly despite the 2-1 defeat. Many of the side then enjoyed minutes in the Carabao Cup against Aston Villa on Wednesday night.

Dion Sanderson, Taylor Perry and Chem Campbell all started the fourth round tie at Villa Park, with Benny Ashley-Seal, Terry Taylor and Flavio Cristovao appearing from the bench – which also featured Callum Richards, Oskar Buur and Austin Samuels.

Derby are currently sat atop the Division 1 rankings but did suffer defeat to Wolves just last month in Kennedy’s first game taking caretaker charge of the side in the Premier League Cup.
