Wolves under-23s moved back to the top of the Premier League 2 table following Monday night’s comfortable 4-2 victory over West Bromwich Albion at Aggborough, thanks to goals from Max Kilman, Niall Ennis, Pedro Goncalves and Oskar Buur.
Both Wolves and Reading are currently tied on 27 points – alongside Southampton – but Rob Edwards’ side, who have a game in hand over their rivals, sit at the top of the division due to their superior goal difference.
The teams drew 2-2 when they faced each other at the Madejski Stadium on the opening day of the PL2 season back in August.

WHAT THE BOSS THINKS
On Reading
“We had a good game the first time we played Reading earlier in the season. I thought they were very good that day and it’s not surprising that they’re up at the top end of the table.
“They’ve got some good players, and some of their players like Danny Loader are playing in the first team and have made that breakthrough. It should be a really good game.”
On playing two games in a week
“It’s quite a quick turnaround for Friday, but that’s good. The players need to be ready to play two or three games in a week and we’re looking forward to the challenge.
“The players have trained well since they came back after new year and I think the Christmas break did them good.”
