Rob Edwards’ side head to Mansfield Town for their second match of the competition with one point, following the spot-kick loss at Scunthorpe United in early September.
League Two outfit Mansfield are currently sitting at the top of the Group H table after a 2-1 away win in their opening match at Lincoln City, with Wolves third in the mini-league of four teams.
As the under-23s, Wolves have been on a good run of recent form, picking up three wins in their past three matches – all coming at AFC Telford’s New Bucks Head.

WHAT THE BOSS THINKS
On Mansfield
We’re looking forward to the match tonight, but it’s going to be a real challenge. The last game against Scunthorpe was great and we all really enjoyed it, and I know the players did as well.
All our focus has gone onto that, recovery begun straight after the Hull game on Friday night and we were in over the weekend – Sunday and Monday – working towards the game.
On team changes
I think there will be one or two changes again. A few lads will come back into the team, but that’s the beauty of having a really strong squad. We’ve got players who we trust, and we know can go in and do the job that’s required.
Our squad depth has been a real pleasing thing as of late. Against Newcastle, Sunderland and Hull we were able to make changes and everyone who has come in has really stepped up and made an impression which is great. You want people as a team to close that gap, and keep pushing and pushing to try and knock on that door to make sure they get in.
Obviously, that keeps the ones who have been starting on their toes because they’re thinking ‘hang on, he’s come in behind me and I’ve got to up my game as well’ – all the time with the aim of trying to push on up, because there is another challenge beyond this level of football.
