Scott Sellars' side head into the game on the back of a 2-0 defeat to Leicester City in the quarter final of the Premier League Cup on Monday evening at Holmes Park.
The Middlesbrough game is the middle fixture in what is a busy week for the Under 23s.
After this afternoon's game, Wolves will play Norwich City on Sunday afternoon, also in Premier League 2.
