Wolves ran out 4-2 winners over Southampton on Monday evening with Wilson scoring a hat trick.
The win took Wolves up to seventh in the table with 16 points from 12 games.
Speaking following the game, he says that following a tough start to the season, Wolves have done well to turn it around.
He said, “It was a great result - it was great to come from 2-0 down and then to win 4-2.
“We had quite a slow start and for the first 15 minutes they dominated us.
“After that, the lads played well - we started passing, started getting on the ball.
“We minimised their chances and showed good character to come back and win the game.
“In the second half, we dominated the game - they didn’t really have any shots or anything like that - we played really well in the second half.
“We had quite a slow start to the season and we lost a few games.
“Since then, the lads bounced back and we’re unbeaten in the last five so it’s going well at the moment and we want to keep this run going.
“It’s my first hat trick of the season so I’m buzzing to get it really.
“The last one was in the 90th minute as well so it was good to complete it just before the end of the game. I’m just happy and hopefully I keep scoring.”
Wolves’ top scorer this season, Wilson, has the ultimate target of playing for Wolves’ first team having had the taste of first team experience in the Carabao Cup against Southampton and Bristol Rovers this season.
He admits that it may be difficult for him to break into the first team at the moment and so does have an open mind to potentiality leaving on loan in January.
“What I want to do is to play first team here at Wolves but if I can’t at this moment in time then maybe I need to go on loan somewhere and experience mens football,” Wilson said.
“I need to gain confidence from playing against men, playing better and getting used to that. It’s not the same as ‘23s football.
“I think if I’m scoring against men, in the football league or something then it’s better than scoring against ‘23s players.
“The manager will look at that more and it will give me a better chance to push of the first team.”
Wolves’ next fixture is against Blackburn Rovers on Monday evening at AFC Telford’s New Bucks Head.
