Wilson Hoping To Kick On

Donovan Wilson is delighted to have signed a new deal with Wolves and is thankful for the support shown by the club.

The 20 year old forward has impressed for both the Under 23s and the first team, and has been rewarded by signing a new deal which will keep him at Wolves until 2020 with the option of a further year.

Wilson has scored five goals so far for the Under 23s this season as well as being nominated for the Premier League 2 player of the month for September.

The former Bristol Rovers striker also featured and scored for the first team against Southampton as well as against his former club Bristol Rovers, both in the Carabao Cup.

Wilson says that he is hungry to play and hopes that he will get his chance to prove himself again at first team level.

“I’m hungry no matter what level it is that I’m playing at. Whether it be against a League Two side or a Premier League team, I’m just happy to be involved,” Wilson said.

“It was last December that I signed my last contract but I’ve done well and thankfully I’ve got a new one - this one being a lot longer as well.

“Hopefully I can now kick on and try and push towards the first team and see where I can get to.

“The feeling of scoring that goal at Southampton was just unbelievable in front of all the fans as well!

“It all happened so quickly, I think it was my first touch that I scored with and then my emotions went sky high.

“I’ve played against Chelsea which is obviously one of the best teams in the country - it was a big game in the FA Cup.

“Brighton as well, they were top of the league at the time, Southampton in the Carabao Cup and then against my old team Bristol Rovers - they’ve all been really good games and I’ve been so happy to be involved and especially happy to get that goal against Southampton.

“Obviously the bigger the team, the more exciting it is but any game I’m happy to be involved in.”

Wolves Under 23s next fixture is at AFC Telford’s New Bucks Head against Norwich City on Monday 6th November (7pm) in the Premier League Cup.
