Wolves Under 23s have lost their last two games, narrowly losing to Reading in their last outing.
Admitting that his team are in transition, Sellars says that this season will be different to last season.
He has, however been boosted by the return of Morgan Gibbs-White who has been out for a number of months with injury.
He’s delighted to have the England U17 international in his squad for Monday’s game, a player who he feels has a big future in the game.
Sellars began, “It will be good for Morgan (Gibbs-White) to get some time on the pitch at Newcastle - he’s been training with us at the moment.
“The level of ‘23s is probably what he needs to build up really and I think he’s got a chance to go to the World Cup with the U17s with England so that might be an option moving forward as well.
“Delighted he’s training with us, he looks stronger and more mature, he looks hungry and he’s a boy with a really big future.
“Last year’s team was very settled - for the first six months nobody went out on loan, everybody stayed together and the team picked itself really.
“At the moment, we’ve lost a lot of players so we’re going through a little bit of a transitional period of settling new players in.
“It’s an opportunity to get back and play, and learn some more.
“I think the positive from last Monday was obviously the second half performance - looking back at the game, the first half was probably closer than I thought and that was probably on the back of the emotion of conceding a goal and one thing we need to get better at is our reaction when we concede.
“Overall we created enough chances - if you look at the stats we were better on everything, we’re showing some good signs as a young team.”
Last week saw a number of Sellars’ players get a run-out for the first team as Wolves beat Bristol Rovers in the Carabao Cup at Molineux.
Oskar Buur Rasmussen started for Wolves and Sellars felt the 19 year old equipped himself well.
“I was delighted for Oskar who’s only been with us a short time - he’s only played two U23 league games, his experience of English football is very low.
“I thought he equipped himself very well -what I really enjoyed was, he had a bad ten minutes in the first half but he came through and then went on to show some really good quality in the second half.
“Obviously to see Connor (Ronan), Bright (Enobakhare) to get his goal at last it was brilliant - I’ve been saying for a while now that once he gets one I could see the belief coming back into his game and that was proven as he scored again on Saturday.
“Connor did well as well in a different position against a six foot seven striker he did really well and showed his quality at times.
“‘Donny’ (Donovan Wilson) did really well to get the man sent off as he turned him and again more minutes for him at first team level.
“The great thing is that they went through which will hopefully bring them some more minutes - away at Man City would be fantastic for them.”
