Academy Under 23s Travel To Rugby Town

Wolves travel to Butlin Road on Tuesday night to take on Rugby Town in the Birmingham Senior Cup.

This is Wolves Under 23s' second outing in the competition having defeated Romulus FC 5-0 in their opening fixture in October.

Scott Sellars' side approach the tie on the back of a Checkatrade Trophy victory over Sunderland Under 21s at Molineux on Monday night.

Looking ahead to the game, Sellars said: “We’re certainly keeping them busy.

“It was great on Friday because ten other lads played and there was no difference. We went 4-0 up against Norwich’s Under 23s.

“I think that shows that we work hard together every day and it doesn’t matter who plays.

“We’ll be going to Rugby to try and win that game as well. We want to win as many games as we possibly can because I think that’s an important part of their development."

Rugby Town come into the cup tie on the back of a 3-2 defeat to Sheffield FC at Butlin Road on Saturday afternoon.

The Valley are currently bottom of the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division South but had enjoyed back-to-back wins going into Saturday's defeat.

Tickets for the game are £8 for adults & £4 for OAPs/U16s.
