Wolves Academy are to play a pre-Christmas friendly against the Under-19s from Chinese Super League side Shanghai SIPG.
A young Wolves side will be taking on their Chinese opponents, as part of their tour of the Midlands, at the Compton Park training ground on December 22nd.
Former Chelsea and Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas was appointed Head Coach of Shanghai’s first team last month.
Wolves will also be meeting with coaches from the main Shanghai club to share information as part of a wider process of continuing to build positive and mutually beneficial links following the arrival of Fosun as owners.
“We are very pleased to be hosting Shanghai SIPG at the Compton Park training ground,” said Sporting Director Kevin Thelwell.
“They are the main professional team in Shanghai, and it will be good for us to get together and share information about players and coaching methods.
“With our Academy games programme, we are always looking to test the lads with different challenges and experiences and it will be good for them to go up against some of the top young players from China.”
