Cunha and Farmer net against Vitoria SC

Julen Lopetegui’s group enjoyed their first run-out of pre-season in the Portugal sun over the weekend, when Wolves beat Vitoria SC.

Matheus Cunha scored before the break, after Matheus Nunes spread the play to Pablo Sarabia, who disguised a left-footed pass to pick out the Brazilian at the back post to knock home.

The Old Gold’s second goal was similarly constructed, as the fit-again Chiquinho was sent scampering down the right and squared for youngster Owen Farmer to roll into the bottom corner.

Tom King was given his first taste of action in a Wolves shirt, while Chiquinho was playing for the first in 12 months and the likes of Ryan Giles and Dion Sanderson were given minutes after returning from loan spells away recently.

The 2-1 win also provided a first run out for the club’s new red away kit, as Lopetegui’s side stepped up their 2023/34 preparations.
