Wolves duo Jonny and Matheus Nunes have been nominated for the Budweiser Goal of the Season award, following brilliant strikes in old gold this campaign.
Jonny’s long-range volley against Leeds United earned him the division’s honour for March and Wolves became the first club to win the award in consecutive months following Nunes’ cracker against Chelsea.
Now, both goals are up for the overall season award, alongside seven other strikes from across the Premier League.
On 18th March, with Illan Meslier off his line, Jonny hit a 41-yard volley over the goalkeeper and into the South Bank net, and just weeks later Raul Jimenez was presenting him with the Goal of the Month honour.
Then, in April, Nunes rocketed home a stunning strike from just inside the box to earn Wolves an invaluable victory, and Matheus Cunha handed over the monthly award at Compton Park soon after.
