Wolves end Marbella training camp with a win

Wolves ended their Spanish training camp on a high as Julen Lopetegui's men claimed a 4-3 win over La Liga outfit Cadiz in the shadow of the Rock of Gibraltar.

Before heading back to the Black Country so preparations for Lopetegui's first competitive game in charge against Gillingham can continue, the Wolves players got a game in their legs against Cadiz, and found the back of the net on four occasions - the first time an old gold side have scored as many in a game since their pre-season friendly victory over another Spanish side in Deportivo Alaves.

Inside the first few minutes, Rayan Ait-Nouri's dangerous cross was turned into his own net by opposition defender Carlos, but the Spanish side hit back by forcing an own goal of their own as Toti inadvertently headed a cross past Matija Sarkic. Nathan Collins' header from a Joao Moutinho cross put Wolves back in front, before Daniel Podence's lowly driven strike from the edge of the box gave his side a 3-1 lead heading into the half-time break.

Wolves came out to the second-half having made four changes, which included a first outing for Hee Chan Hwang following his World Cup exploits for South Korea, but handed Cadiz a lifeline early on, when a mistake in the defence by Maximilian Kilman was capitalised on by Ruben Alcaraz.

However, another own goal, this time from Genar Fornes, gave the English side their two-goal lead back, but with the final kick of the match, Alex Fernandez hit an unstoppable shot from the edge of the Wolves box which flew past Sarkic, but it wasn't enough to stop Lopetegui's men from claiming the victory ahead of their return to the UK.
