Preparations continue with Marbella training match

Wolves continued their preparations for the return of the second-half of the season with a behind closed doors training match against Italian side Empoli which finished 1-1.

Julen Lopetegui's side took a first-half lead against their Serie A opponents, after Hugo Bueno pounced on a loose ball on the edge of the box before smashing the ball into the bottom corner of the net.

Wolves made a few changes at the break, taking off the goalscorer and Nathan Collins, with Rayan Ait-Nouri and Toti coming in for the second 45 minutes, before Raul Jimenez entered the fray for a 30-minute run-out on his return from the World Cup.

The Mexican was involved as the side in gold and black came close to a second when Jimenez found Joe Hodge in the area, but his shot flew narrowly wide of the post.

Following another raft of changes to Wolves team, which saw several academy boys enter the action, Empoli were able to get a goal back through Sam Lammers which was enough to earn his side a draw, as the game gave important competitive minutes to Lopetegui's men.
