After claiming the award for August, Neves has once again come out on top after a pair of high level performances against Southampton and Manchester City.
At home to the Saints, Neves led the way for blocks, but was equally important in an attacking sense, spreading the ball wide to Pedro Neto in the build-up to Daniel Podence’s winning goal.
A fortnight on, with Wolves down to ten men against Manchester City, Neves showed his adaptability to slot in at central defence and no Wolves man touched the ball as much as Neves – 73 times against the reigning champions.
Contributions in those games saw Neves pip compatriots Matheus Nunes in second and Podence in third, and Tony Roberts was on hand to hand him the award.
