A month that began with so much promise thanks to a 2-1 win over West Midlands rivals Aston Villa, Wolves were unable to build on that result with their other three outings, falling to defeats against Newcastle United, Burnley and Brighton & Hove Albion.
Despite the results, there were still several stand-out performances from four individuals, with Willy Boly, Jonny, Jose Sa and Fabio Silva all in contention to pick up the award.
The only man two win the monthly award twice, Sa could earn a hat-trick of titles as he continued his impressive debut season at Molineux, with the keeper making 14 saves during April to give his side a chance in the narrow defeats.
Jonny took to the field in both the right and left full-back positions during April and went from strength to strength having recovered from his double ACL injury, being the only Wolves player to score during the month as he set his side to victory over Villa.
Next to him, Boly was back as a regular in his defence following an injury to Maximilian Kilman and the centre-back stepped up to the plate by making the most interceptions and clearances of anyone in gold and black.
Heading into attack and Silva earns his first nomination of the season after leading the line in every match throughout the month and having the most shots on target of any Wolves player but was unluckily denied a goal.
