The forward earned his first call-up for the Portugal under-21 side, alongside his Wolves teammate Ruben Vinagre, playing in a 4-0 2021 Euro U21 qualifying victory over Gibraltar, and Neto will be hoping to be back in contention for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side when they invite the Blues to Molineux this weekend.
On his international break
“It was a good week for the national team. We got two wins, but I didn’t play in the second game because I picked up a slight injury in my right leg in the first game, but I have been working hard so I can help the team.
“The break was good for the team because we’ve had many games in a few days, but we are ready to fight in the Premier League again.”
On a tough start to the season
“It’s been a difficult time, but we have a good team, coach, trainers, and we trust each other as teammates. We’ve had some good games, but we are ready to go for other good games.”
On the proposition of Chelsea
“We are always confident in our own abilities and believe we can win – the confidence is always the same, although Chelsea are going well.
“I know Wolves beat Chelsea at Molineux last season, but I didn’t see the game myself.
“I am surprised with their striker, Abraham, but they are doing well, and we know it’s going to be a tough game.”
