Wolves won 4-0 to wrap up an 8-0 aggregate victory, with Ruddy being one of nine players to come in as Nuno Espirito Santo opted to rotate his squad. Ruddy - who was Wolves' regular FA Cup goalkeeper as the club reached the semi-finals of that competition last season - thinks that the quality of the team's second-half display shows that the squad is talented enough to cope with a potentially more congested season this time around.
On the changed team
“I think the performance in general was good, and again, it's about building a platform. We showed last year during our cup run that players can come into our team and adapt perfectly well - we have our set way of playing and our philosophy, and everyone knows that.
“A couple of new lads came in tonight, and it was like they've been here the whole time.”
On Thursday’s performance
“Before the game we emphasised doing things right and sticking to our principles and philosophy; going about things like we do every game. When you've got a 4-0 lead though, it's going to be a slightly different mentality.
“We got in at half time and we were disappointed with the first-half performance. It was a bit low-key and a bit sloppy in places, but then as soon as we got the first goal in the second half, that was it.”
On the Torino draw
“It's a great challenge for the club. They finished in the same position - seventh - in Serie A as we did in the Premier League, so it's a good battle.
“The further you go in this competition, the tougher the opposition is going to be. We've got desires to do very well in this competition, and performances like we've put in already, in these early rounds, will stand us in good stead.”
