Mir joins Forest on loan

Wolves forward Rafa Mir has joined Nottingham Forest on loan until the end of the season.

The Spanish under-21 international goalscorer first joined Wolves back in January 2018 from Valencia where he was handed the number nine shirt.

Since his arrival at Molineux, the 22-year-old made two appearances from the bench in Wolves’ Championship-winning campaign of 2017/18, while making his first start for the team in a FA Cup third round replay with Swansea City.

Mir scored his first goal for the club during last pre-season, netting in a 2-1 win over Basel and a 4-0 drubbing of Young Boys as Nuno Espirito Santo’s men secured the Uhrencup in Switzerland.

Despite his goalscoring start to 2018/19, the striker found himself moving away from Molineux during Wolves’ first season back in the Premier League as he spent the year on loan at Spanish second division side UD Las Palmas.

During a season back in his homeland, Mir made 30 appearances in a Palmas shirt, scoring seven times – his first coming in just his third game for the team, recording the equaliser in a 1-1 draw with Real Zaragoza.

Wolves would like to wish Rafa the best of luck during his loan spell at the City Ground.
