The confident forward, who has five goals and two assists in his last six league matches – including a hat-trick against Leicester City last month, hopes to be in the starting line-up for the trip to Goodison Park as he was in the side which played out the 2-2 draw at Molineux in August.
Jota has also given his take the ‘great’ permanent signing of Jonny yesterday, and why he thinks a quiet January transfer window means good news for Wolves.
On Everton
“They will have their fans supporting their team. Every game is hard, but even more when you play away, and Everton is a great team, one of the best after the top six for sure for a long time, so I think it will be one of the hardest grounds to go and win.
“They have good players. I think their first main man is Richarlison; he’s been scoring goals, so we have to be careful with him of course.
“It’s not a good thing to compare this game to the first game in Premier League, not just for us but for them as well. It’s now a different moment, different players.
“It will be a very hard game and nothing to do with the first one of the season.”
On being a confident forward
“Things are happening finally. I think I started the season well, but I am a striker, I like to score goals, so when that doesn’t happen I’m not completely happy.
“Now I can say I’m happy because I can score, I have been scoring, been doing assists as well, so I can help the team and I feel much happier now
“Scoring the hat-trick against Leicester was the best feeling in the world. When you get a last-minute winner that means a hat-trick and a victory, I was over the moon in that time.
“I got the players to sign the ball and I will keep it at my home because it’s a good mark for me and something I will never forget.”
On the permanent signing of Jonny
“Jonny’s a great guy, he’s established well on the team and although his English isn’t perfect, he’s getting there.
“He can reach really far in his career, he has the strong mentality, strong physicality, so he has everything.
“He’s strong – very strong for a small guy – very hard to beat in one-vs-ones, and he’s doing very well for us this season; on the right or on the left, so I think he’s a great signing for us.
“When you don’t have to do January movements it means that you are well. I think when you are not, you need to do something, and someone comes in or someone goes out.
“It’s a good thing that we are keeping the same from the beginning until the end of the season.”
