Wolves head into the 7.45pm kick-off with Spurs following their first back-to-back defeats under the stewardship of Nuno Espirito Santo and the captain expects his side to improve, despite a dominant performance in the defeat at Brighton last weekend.
“It’s been an OK start from our point of view. People have said we’ve done alright, but we’ve been beat the last couple of games and it’s not a nice feeling at all, so we need to put that right as soon as possible.
“On Saturday it was the worst feeling in the world; when you play quite well and you create chances but you don’t come away with something from the game when we thought we deserved a win.
“For us it’s just about bouncing back, learning, and improving as much as we can leading into Spurs.”
Coady is looking forward to the late start of Saturday’s match, but insists the kick-off time will not change how Wolves prepare for the clash.
He said: “It doesn’t change anything, but what it does do is get you looking forward to a game under the lights. There’s nothing better than a game under the lights, it’s brilliant, especially here at Molineux, because the crowd are electric at the best of times.
“We’re looking forward to it, but our mind set doesn’t change. We have to be switched on as much as possible because there’s a fantastic Spurs team coming here.
“They’re a fantastic team, they’ve got some brilliant footballers, they’ve got a fantastic manager who has them playing some brilliant stuff, but we’ll be ready for them.
“We’ve got a tough week ahead of us with training where we will be looking at improving on Brighton because we need to get back to winning ways.”
The defender is expected to have the task of keeping England striker Harry Kane at bay for the duration of this weekend’s match, but Coady knows the danger posed by the whole Spurs squad.
“He’s a fantastic footballer,” he added. “What he’s done for Tottenham, and for England as well - the way he played at the World Cup, he’s a sensational footballer, but I don’t think it’s only him.
“They’ve got some pretty good footballers behind him as well, so we need to be ready for the whole team. We don’t just look at one player, we focus on how we’re going to play, how we go into the game and more on ourselves then the opposition.”
