Wednesday’s defeat at Sheffield United was only their second in 13 games in all competitions so far this season, and came when playing with ten men for 75 minutes after Conor Coady’s early sending-off.
Today will be another tough challenge at a stadium where Wolves suffered last gasp disappointment last season, but the Head Coach is all about concentrating on their own performance in seeking a return to winning ways.
“It takes time to achieve consistency but we are in the right way,” he says.
“The expectations are high but we don’t change our working.
“We know there is a long way to go and we are humble enough to recognise that it will take a lot from us to succeed.
“And to succeed is just about the next game.
“We don’t care what is being said outside about being contenders or favourites – no.
“We want to be a team that wants to work every day to become better on the day of competition.
“That is our objective and that will give us the future.”
Burton took four points off Wolves last season and the tight confines of the Pirelli Stadium will provide a contrast to Wednesday night and Bramall Lane.
Nuno says Wolves will be prepared for that, but must also impose themselves on the proceedings this afternoon.
“We have to recognise the strengths of the opponents and then put our ideas on the pitch to become the dominant team,” he added.
“It is about managing the momentum of the game and achieving the results.
“If the pitch is smaller or has different dimensions it is important but we prepare for that.
“The players area ready and it is going to be tough like every game in the Championship is.
“But we will fight to the maximum of our strengths.”
Nuno will consider changes after the exertions of Wednesday night, and must make at least one with Coady suspended.
But he is happy with the options available.
"Bennett is o-k, he's been working for one week and can be an option.
"Hause is o-k but the only situation about Kortney is that he hasn't had any moments of competition, yet.
“The right moment will come for Kortney – it can be tomorrow, you never know.
"It's the first time for that specific position but we have enough good options that we trust will do well.
"Boly is not close enough to be considered. We cannot count on Willy, he'll need more time.
"Fortunately we don't have too many cases of injuries...from the last game there are maybe some doubts, you never know.
“Physically it was demanding on Wednesday because we played 75 minutes with ten men.
“I liked what the players did because with one man less you have to multiply your efforts and they all did that.
“That meant we were able to be physically inside the game all 90 minutes.
“It is a fantastic squad of hard workers and that is the first step to building becoming a good team fighting for bigger things.”
