We Have A Quality Team

Alfred N’Diaye says that although his move to Wolves happened during the closing hours of deadline day, he is eager and excited to get started at his new club.

The central midfielder was on international duty with Senegal when he received the call that Wolves were interested in signing him.

N’Diaye completed the signing on a season-long loan from Villarreal and despite revealing it was a difficult decision for him and his family, he believes is was the correct one as he aims to help Wolves challenge for promotion.

He said, “I was with the national team in Africa - my manager and my brother told me that I had an offer from Wolverhampton, and that I had to think quickly as it was the end of the transfer window.

“The club told us of their ambitions to be in the Premier League, so we took the decision to move here.

“It was a hard day on Thursday night - we talked a lot and I had to discuss with my family and finally we took the decision very late on.

“It was a difficult day but finally I was happy because we signed the contract before the window closed.

“It was a big decision - I was in Spain in the first league, and I had to think whether I wanted to move country to play in the second league.

“It was a hard choice but the project was good and that’s why I’ve come here.

“I feel good - I only arrived two days ago so I don't know the city yet or the people.

“I only just came to the training ground - the club are trying to help me in getting to know my surroundings, I’ve spoken with our staff and players and everything is good.

“We have a lot of new players here at Wolves - we all have to help each other and we have to adapt quickly to English football, the championship and English life.”

The former Hull and Sunderland midfielder has now arrived back from international duty and he is available for selection for Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship fixture with Milwall at Molineux (3pm).

The 27 year old says that his experiences of playing in England has stood him in good stead for the season ahead.

“I know English football, I’ve played for Hull and for Sunderland before, so I know English football, and I know English fan,” he continued.

“I know that when we play against Milwall, we will have a good atmosphere in the stadium and I know the British mentality and I like it.

“If you fight, if you give your best - the fans like you, the fans love you.

“Of course the football in England is different than that in Spain.

“I have played in England and then been back to Spain and then back to England again -  I can play in both leagues.

“I will play my football, I aim to give my best and try to help my team mates and I will give my best for the team.

“I’m ready to fight and to go up to the Premier League because this is our aim.

“I know Willy Boly from France, I know the French players and I know the Portuguese players from Porto because I've played against them a few times as well.

“Now I have to talk with my new team mates to adapt to life here and for the team.

“We have a quality team with quality players - our ambition is to go up because we have the quality to do that.

“I will do my best, I’m a midfielder who is powerful, I can play box-to-box or play more positional.

“For sure I will give my best on the pitch.”
