Wolves ran out 2-0 winners over Derby County through goals from Barry Douglas and Ivan Cavaleiro in either half.
But Nuno’s men had chances to score more goals in what was an impressive showing from his side.
Speaking after the game he said: “I have to congratulate my boys and Derby as well because it was a very good game of football.
“I think we played a good game. “After the goal I thought that we controlled every moment of the game.
“Derby’s a tough team and they were playing at home.
“We were able to control them and play our game with possession of the ball.
“We can create chances to produce more goals and they will come in the future.
“You cannot be disappointed when you when 2-0 away from home at Derby County.
“This has been a good start for the team but we have a long way to go and Tuesday is a tough match.
“Congratulations to the team but tomorrow we start working again.”
When asked about individual performances in his side, Nuno refused to single out any particular player and instead hailed his team as a whole.
“I try to avoid individual praise,” explained the Head Coach before adding: “The boys worked very well as a team.
“There are two moments of the game you have to be strong, when you have the ball and when you don’t .
“We know Derby is a good team with good players and, to control their attacking process, made us more comfortable in the game.
“I thought we should have taken advantage sooner and closed the game.
“But I must congratulate the players – the chances were there and the goals will come.
“Every moment of the game is important, defending well, clean sheets – it’s the first step to be closer to winning.
“We are trying to build a team from the back, be solid, work hard and being balanced and the boys are getting the message.
“Tomorrow we start again to try and be ready for Tuesday.”
Wolves’ away allocation was sold out at Pride Park and the travelling fans were extremely vocal in their support from start to finish.
“The support of our fans was fantastic from the first minute,” explained Nuno.
“We were able to give them a good performance and we thank them for the support. It was incredible and made us feel like we were in Molineux.”
