Price featured as a substitute in Wolves’ final pre-season game against Leicester at Molineux on Saturday.
He says it’s been a tough pre-season but everyone’s now excited for the start of the season.
“I think we’ve all had enough minutes, I don't think anything has been too silly,” the 24 year old said.
“No one has been thrown straight into 90 minutes, we’ve all had a fair share of the game time and I think that’s important to get our fitness up.
“You don't want to peak to early, it’s a long season - 46 games and it’s a good start for us.
“I’m just buzzing really, we just want to get going - the last pre-season game’s done, we’ve got a good week under our belt training to go next week and then all the lads are ready for a full house a Molineux.
“Obviously the lads that started against Leicester did well and it will be tough to get in the starting line-up for next week but I’ll hopefully squeeze my way in.
“We’ve been drilled into during pre-season training but training isn't games, so when you put playing into practice in a game against high opposition and you get a victory, our confidence is high.”
Price says that Nuno Espirito Santo’s system is one that suits his style of play.
He says that the style of play worked well in Saturday’s win to Leicester.
He said, “The Gaffer’s drilled into us about getting the ball down and playing and I think everyone is comfortable with that.
“The lads that started were brilliant, and the lads that came on against Leicester did just as well.
“I think that’s going to be the priority this season, if your called upon, you need to be ready to step up and do what he’s asking of you.
“The system we’re playing suits me well - from the first game of pre-season, we got the ball down and played football which I like to do.
“It’s the first time for a while where we’ve tried that - three at the back, and it seems to be working, it suits me down to the ground. When I’m out there I’ll try and do my best.
“I think the result was great but the performance was just as good and that’s important for us to kick on, next week the season starts and the Gaffer has said that we wanted to treat this game as a competition and we did.”
