David Nugent and Bradley Johnson gave the hosts a two-goal lead before Ben Marshall pulled one back for ten-man Wolves just before the break.
But Derby regained their two-goal advantage in the 58th-minute through Craig Bryson and held on to take all three points.
Reflecting on the game, Dicko said: "No one likes to lose, especially when we turn and see the fans, it's never pleasing to see that we've let them down a bit. Every time we lose we feel we've let them down.
“I really wanted to do something to not lose today but I’m really disappointed that we lost the game.
"My personal performance is not really important because we wanted the three points and I'm really disappointed we lost.
"Unfortunately it wasn't our day - it was a day when nothing was working for us.
"After we got the red card it's not helping us. We lost the game and no one is happy, it was a bad day for us.
"It's great to see the fans backing the players. Even though we were losing maybe they felt like we tried and it wasn't our day. I really want to say thank you to the fans, they were great. Unfortunately we were not as good as them.
"It's not unnoticed. We'll try to win the last game and forget this season. It wasn't the best season for everyone and for me as well. But it's football. Hopefully next season is better for everyone."
When asked how he felt the 2016/17 has gone on a personally, the striker responded: “On Saturday I felt like myself. Hopefully I can keep going from there and everyone will be happy to have me back to my best.
"I've had some games like Brentford away, Leeds, when I've felt good. It was hard to be consistent, maybe because of no pre-season, maybe not, but surely it doesn't help not to have one.
"As a player, when you come back in the team without a pre-season it doesn't help. I don't want to hide behind this, I don't want to find an excuse for myself.
"It wasn't the best season for me. It happens in football – I'm not proud of it but it's football.
"I've tried my best, it wasn't easy but I kept going, I've scored a couple of important goals and I try to stay positive.
“As a player you want to do well. Whether you score or you don’t, you still want to feel good, that you’ve had a good game.
"Hopefully that's how I'm going to feel next season – even if some games I don't score, that's me, I'm back, and people can count on me."
"I felt like myself on Saturday, hopefully I keep going from that. Hopefully with a pre-season it can only help and to be where I was before the injury, that's my aim and my target.
"I want to thank the fans that have supported me throughout the season because it hasn’t been easy for me. Their help has been really good."
